One of the smartest things to do on a やすみ is to stay up late and sleep long. Getting back to work feels even worse after sleeping too little the previous night. きのうは Loppiainen でした, it’s a religious holiday of some sort, but that’s as much as I know. It’s not even my religion, but it’s a day off for みなさん and that’s what matters. はる is nicer than あき in that matter, there’s もっとやすみ.

After hearing 1 song by eX-Girl and reading a review of their Back to the Mono Kero album, I just had to get it. And to my surprise, they had it in shelf at Musiikki-Kullas (the clerk congratulated for picking such an uncommon album):
Here’s a quote from allmusic.com review of the album:
One expecting the cutesy, Hello Kitty goofiness of Shonen Knife will be shocked to find that Back to the Mono Kero! is closer to Zappa catalog. In fact, the opener, “Waving Scientist,” sounds like an outtake from Joe’s Garage. These girls can sing, and with excellent range, as evidenced by nearly every track. The music is progressive, noisy, and strange, running the gamut from new wave inspired keyboard workouts, to dense, multi-part prog rock freakouts — yes, occasionally complete with Fripp-esque guitar.
Trio of Japanese punk girls playing prog rock compared to Zappa! Convincing, no?
Saw The Return of the King at last. It’s been running for three weeks and the theatre was, of course, still full.
Wow. Three+ hours just flashed by. A captivating movie, with something very good (the trickery of Gollum), some unanswered questions (how did the palantír end up in the pool?), some silly heroics (again by Legolas), something strange (Denethor eating), and something that luckily did not happen (Faramir getting almostkilled in a battle against some hero orc).
The extended edition has a lot of potential for being absolutely wonderful movie – Saruman, Aragorn doing the healing and receiving even some sort of recognition in Minas Tirith, and adding some square kilometers to Mordor (it seems that Frodo and Sam walk from Minas Morgul to Mount Doom in a couple of hours) are things I hope to see.

If there was a level system in coffee freakdom, I wonder if getting a coffee grinder would entitle for くろおび. This is my new Severin KM 3877:
It has “two opposite running diecast aluminium plates” in its mill unit and variable grind control.
The next mission is to find the best coffee beans. So far I’ve tried espresso roast in addition to Paulig’s “klassinen paahto” (making the coffee in a Bodum French press) and it’s certainly a lot different. In addition to a lot of basic grinds for drip coffee makers the local shops have a lot of spiced coffees (why not just add the spices into the coffee grounds yourself, when making coffee? instant anis coffee! or how about cayenne coffee?-) and maybe two or three kinds of beans. But I’ll keep on searching.
