About a month ago we found a sprout of ginger in my kitchen and planted it. After a while it started growing like crazy, and another sprout appeared from the same piece of root. The little plastic can started to look a bit too small so we moved it to a real flower pot:

But, after a few days, leaves started to turn yellow and wither away. Our guess was that the soil was too wet (the instructions of the self-watering pot told to make the soil wet at first), so I removed the water from the container in the bottom to give it a chance to dry a bit. There’s still yellow in the top and on one of the leaves, but otherwise it seems to be growing. We’ll see if it stays alive for another month.
