Digital EOS has brought back my interest in photography. I’ve been photographing horse races at Äimärautio about 4 or 5 times now, and I think I’m starting to manage the basics by now – meaning less blurry horses. What I’d really like is horses running on green pastures, but photographing horse races is easier to realize. Doing it on really rainy weather might be interesting, though.
Another easy-to-find subject I’ve been shooting a lot lately is clouds. But they’re really evasive target – if I see nice clouds on the sky, they’re surely gone by the time I’ve gone and got my camera, or arrived at a location where it’s possible to see enough sky without lots of trees and buildings up close.
The most limiting factor has been the memory card. Shooting in RAW+JPEG formats takes a lot of space. When I get the 2GB memory card + the PSD I ordered recently I don’t need to worry about that anymore. Let’s just hope the weather is better this year, i.e. no endless sunshine from a clear sky…
Finally!
A minute ago I went to 五人一首 home page to find their e-mail address (I thought I’d mail them and ask if they’re planning to make another album during this century). Their English home page is still last updated on 2003, but their Japanese page says:
Progressive black/death metal must be the finest, highest form of musical evolution – the complexity and artistry of prog borrowing elements from the heaviest, darkest, most powerful branch of metal. Blackwater Park by Opeth is just that, and it’s one of the best albums in the known universe. Gonin-Ish’s is another, quite different version. The single (Muge no hito) they made after the first album is promising..
Spent the last weekend in Helsinki. It’s a bit more green & lush than Oulu. On Saturday we walked here and there despite of the rain:
We also checked out the new mall in Kamppi. The bus station is located in there, too, and the access to the buses is from the inside of the mall, with a separate door to every platform. There are paths for blind people on the floor, but why the number’s aren’t in braille?
There’s also a Games Workshop store with a lot of miniatures.
It’s been very windy this spring, and summer seems the same. 28th of May was the worst so far, it was blowing so much that we just had to go to Nallikari to check the sea:
