My girlfriend has asked me a couple of times if I have any dice games (I hope she means board games, pure dice games are rather boring). Warhammer Fantasy Battle has a lot of dice rolling going on, but for some reason it didn’t catch on.
But now I’ve obtained a game which everyone would like to play:
A Star Trek board game The Final Frontier, with Original Series settings! And it should be very simple, with just one page of rules.
This is the Star Ship Enterprise, your msision is to be given 4 destinations on the Solar Chart to visit and return to Earth before your competitors.
Or not. But luckily it’s only the introduction that is encrypted in Bad English and typos.
Every player is given 4 planets to visit. The players throw a dice and move along the routes a number of steps given by the dice. If they end up on Star Trek Logo square, they pick up Star Trek card and follow the instructions, for example “McCoy avoids a major outbreak of a strange illness by detecting it early. Go forward 6 spaces.” or “Your ship is held in a strong energy beam. Miss 2 turns or throw a 5 to continue.” If they end up in a black hole, some other player moves their ship to some other random black hole. Fun and interesting, right?
