It looks like pleasantly あたたかい day, but actually it’s only about 276K and the wind is freezing:
The amount of people enjoying ビール in the sunshine in the last しゃしん reveals the truth..
I watched the first two episodes of Cleopatra 2525, a B-class sci-fi TV series. It’s not actually very good, but I’ve got to keep on watching to see if it changes at all – so far the episodes have gone like this: the bad guys attack and the two girls (three, actually, but the third one is useless in fights.. and actually the other of the fighting ones has been down most of the time, with her kidney being operated and implant being removed from her head and so on..) who live underground kick their arses no matter what kind of army of Terminator copies the bad guys have. This covers about 95% of the show so far.
The preferred method of transportation in this underground facility of theirs is to jump down a big vertical shaft and to shoot out a Spiderman-like rope when it’s time to stop. They have no problem of stopping the momentum given by a minute or so of free fall, even if they must help someone falling with them to stop too. Oh, and the girl who receives medical treatment all the time hears voices, and they do what the voice tells them to do.
And in other news, I’ve been tuning manpitsu today too, adding some more useless features.
I’ve been tuning this blog a little bit. I upgraded to Movable Type (the engine of this blog) version 2.661, and added some new features:
Today I found new kind of potato chips: feta cheese flavoured. First few chips were like biting a goat, but I got used to the taste pretty soon and then they were nothing special. Kartanon Perunalastut are still my favourite.
Tänään oli ensimmäinen kesälauantai – keskusta oli täynnä T-paidallisia ihmisiä, joista monet harrastivat jäätelönlipitystä tai oluenjuomista.
There was also folk musicians, apparently advertising for Kaustinen. Let’s have a look:
This week はる is catching on. The temperature has been around +20°C (some snow and ice still lurks in the deepest shadows), the grass is getting greener and trees are growing leaves. This means, of course, that my enemies are back:
Attack of the Killer Pollen, episode 29 starts :-/
Another sure sign of なつ getting closer in Oulu is street repairs. Every Spring, when the soil melts enough for digging, an army of digging machines appears out of blue and attacks the innocent streets, causing noise and chaos. Here’s some visual evidence:
After I had took the second photo and started walking, あおい車 (probably the one on the right side of the photo) stopped on the street by me, the driver opened a door and a conversation like this took place:
Driver: Did you just took a photo of the street repairs?
Me: Umm, yes?!
D: Why?
Me: Huh? Just for fun..
D: Could you send it to me?
Me: Huh²?! I took it with my phone, the quality is pretty bad…
D: No problem.. I sold them that fence, but I don’t have a camera with me.
Me: Well, ok, just give me your e-mail address.
He ripped off the めいし glued on top of a box of めいし (apparently he had ran out), gave it to me and drove away. I mailed him the two photos, maybe he rewards me with half a meter of fence or something..
I’ve been doing some major cleaning up for last two days, getting rid of some unnecessary stuff along the way, this shelf among the others:
At first I was just going to give it away, but ended up trading it for two bottles of Pilsner Urquell :-)
While cleaning the kitchen I also found a second cutting board, hidden in the worktop (after living in this apartment for half a year I found a fluorescent lamp hidden under the kitchen cupboard). There may still be some surprises left..
